USOF Coaching Manual

Junior team coaches who bring junior orienteers to your club's events may be entitled to a free USOF coaching manual if they are:

  • An instructor or teacher on faculty at an accredited middle or high school with a team of a minimum of 4 students who regularly participate in local, regional, or national orienteering competitions

OR

  • A non-faculty coach for a school, youth group, or club team of 4 or more juniors actively engaged in regular orienteering competition

Free manuals are available to those coaches who regularly bring junior orienteers to USOF club events.

The USOF Coaching Manual is NOT an introduction to orienteering. It is a reference for the coach who is trying to prepare his/her team for a higher level of orienteering competition.

If you know of a coach who fulfills these requirements, don't forget to request a free USOF Coaching Manual for them.

To request a manual, send the following information to Robin Shannonhouse:

  • Organization supporting the junior team (school, club, etc.)
  • Coach's name, address, phone, and email

One free manual per coach. Additional manuals may be purchased for $12 each plus shipping.
