Local Schedules
Hundreds of local orienteering meets are held throughout the
United States each year. They are held in state parks, national
forests, town recreation areas, and other sites with easy access.
Along with traditional foot orienteering, many club schedules
also include special orienteering eventssuch as ski-O, canoe-O, and mountain bike-Oand some clubs offer
trail-O,
a form of orienteering geared for people of all physical abilities.
Local orienteering events are inexpensive, casual, and open
to everyone. Most offer several different courses, from string-O
for toddlers to advanced courses for expertsand beginners'
instruction is always available. To find out more about events
in your area, check the schedule of the club
nearest you.

- Feb. 13–14 - U.S. Ski-Orienteering Championships, Vermont (additional events before and after)
- Feb. 20–21 - Sycamore Scramble (Sprint/Middle/Classic), including U.S. Intercollegiates Championships (BOK)
- March 5–7 - A-meet sprint/middle plus non-sanctioned Gateway Grunt goat (SLOC)
- April 9–11 - Flying Pig XIV - East Fork State Park, Batavia, Ohio including U.S. Interscholastics Championships, USOF BOD meeting
- May 1–2 - West Point A-meet - sprint/middle/long, West Point, New York
- May 8–9 - WCOC/US Team A-meet (8-9 May WRE)- Ansonia Nature Center and Huntington State Park, between New Haven and Danbury, Connecticut
- May 15–16 - U.S. Team Trials (non-A event by DVOA), M21/F21 courses only in Harriman State Park, New York (Jackie Jones and Rockhouse Mountain maps are embargoed for Team-eligible competitors)
- May 23 - Billygoat Run - Mt. Tom, Holyoke, MA
May 29–30 - 'A' Memorial Event - Cuyahoga Valley National Park (NEOOC) cancelled
- June 26–July 21 - North American Orienteering Festival, including North American Orienteering Championships (in Kootenay Rockies), British Columbia, with:
June 26–28 — U.S. Individual Championships (Sprint/Middle/Long), COC - Middle (Moses Lake, WA), Long (Fishtrap Lake, Sprague, WA), and EWOC Sprint (Spokane, Washington)
- June 30 — U.S. Trail-O Championships (EWOC)
- June 28–June 30 — U.S. Orienteering Federation Convention — Spokane, Washington (EWOC), USOF BOD meeting & AGM
- July 1–4 — North American Orienteering Championships (NAOC) — Cranbrook, British Columbia (2-4 July WRE)
- July 5 and 6 — World Ranking Event (WRE) advisor clinic, Cranbrook, BC
