Help Wanted!

At the West Point A-meet this spring, volunteers are needed to take control of the meal preparation and vending at the concession stand. Janet Porter and her husband Dennis have done this on their own the past several years, but cannot continue to do it alone! It's a great fund raiser for the juniors and deserves your time and effort. The Silent Auction that Donna Fluegel started a couple of years ago will also take place, but assistants are needed on Saturday to help organize and set up the auction items.

Janet is willing to supply the equipment and food for the concession stand, so all it needs is someone (or a group of someones) to step forward to "man battle stations" for the weekend's lunches. Since proceeds typically go towards the University Team, it would be ideal if someone with an interest in seeing this team attend this summer's World University O Champs would offer to help. However, if a parent of a junior orienteer volunteers, proceeds will go into the Junior Team Fund.

Without your help, these two great fund raisers may not be able to continue. Contact Janet Porter (djporter2 [at] verizon [dot] net) if you can volunteer for any Junior Team jobs.

Team Coaching Initiative

Tom Hollowell and Eric Bone have been hired to coach the Junior and Senior U.S. Orienteering Teams. They hope to nurture and grow nationally and internationally competitive athletes. Find out more and register for the program!
