Winning Teams at the
2008
U.S. Relay Championships
The 2008 Relay Championships took place at Mendon Ponds Park near Rochester, New York on Sunday, April 20. Forty-six teams from the US and Canada raced in three different categories — based on the mix of runners on a team — on courses set by Rochester Orienteering Club's Will Hawkins, who used the mixture of open fields and wooded glacial terrain to its full advantage on a comfortably warm spring day. The many spectator opportunities kept the excitement high as well.
In addition, the second annual Junior-Junior Relay was held, and six teams participated, both team members taking their turn to run the same course. Congratulations to all relay participants!

1st - DVOA 2:14:00 (Wyatt & Angelica Riley, Greg Balter, Sergei Zhyk)
2nd - CSU 2:22:49 (Brendan Shields, Alex Jospe, Peter Gagarin, Ross Smith)
3rd - USMA Black 2:27:44 (Jon & Victoria Campbell, Michael Norris, Jordan Laughlin)
The top Canadian team (Robbie Anderson, Randy Kemp, Brian Graham, Jon Torrance) mispunched, so DVOA also won the Challenge Cup.

1st - WCOC 2:02:02 (Pavlina Brautigam, George Walker, John Goodwin, Joe Brautigam)
2nd - Killer Bunnies - NEOC 2:03:12 (Jeff Saeger, Carl Underwood, Samantha & Hillary Saeger)
3rd - HVO Super Russians 2:05:58 (Yekaterina Dvinyaninova, Valery Doverov, Kseniya Popova, Sergiy Gnatiouk)
WCOC also won the Challenge Cup.

2nd - EMPO 2:33:40 (Janet Tryson, Susan & Phil Hawkes-Teeter, Glen Tryson)
3rd - DVOA Too 2:40:05 (Zac Barker, Lynn Aldrich, Rob Wilkison, Fred Reed)
The Challenge Cup was captured by OOC (Alexander Bergstrom, Molly Kemp, Gord Hunter, Stefan Bergstrom), total time 2:03:26
